Terms

Last updated: 27 September 2026

Draft. Plain-English terms, written to be readable rather than to be clever. They are a draft for sign-off before publication, and they are not legal advice — if you want certainty about a specific clause, that is a solicitor's job, not a website's.

What this is

The Shrewsbury Bridge is a free local newsletter and a free WhatsApp line about what is on in Shrewsbury and the towns around it. It is run by one person in Shrewsbury. Using it costs you nothing and creates no account.

Using it

The listings — please check before you set out

Event details are gathered from public sources and from organisers. Times, venues and prices change, events are cancelled, and listings are sometimes wrong at the source before they reach us. Every listing includes a link to the organiser's own page: use it, especially before travelling. We can't promise a listing is accurate at the moment you read it, and we're not responsible for an event that doesn't happen as described.

Other people's websites

Links take you to pages we don't control. What's on those pages is theirs, not ours, and we're not responsible for it.

If you run events

Send us what you'd like listed and, if you're happy for us to list it, we will — free, with a link to your own page. A one-word yes is enough. Tell us once to stop and we will, and we won't list anything beyond the basic facts about your event without your agreement. By sending us material you confirm you have the right to send it.

Our stuff

The name, the illustration, this site and the newsletter itself belong to The Shrewsbury Bridge. Please don't pass them off as your own. You are very welcome to quote or link to what we publish.

If something goes wrong

The service is provided as it is, by one person, and it may be unavailable occasionally — a message may go unanswered, the email may be late. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, and nothing here excludes liability for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top will change with them. Continuing to use the newsletter or the WhatsApp line after a change means the current version applies.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the courts of England and Wales.
